One Month Update A Little Late

It is so hard to believe our little angel is already one month old! It is bittersweet for me. I'm sad because I love her being so tiny and cuddly, but I'm excited because I know that as she gets older she'll become more expressive and we'll be able to do tons of exciting stuff together.

First month stats:
Weight- 9 pounds, 12 ounces (50%)
Length- 22 1/2" (90%!)
You are eating two ounces every two hours. We don't have to keep up with the time, you let us know when it is time to eat.

Adventures your first month:
~ You went to Hickory Dickory Park with mom and her class. All of the kids loved you and wanted to hold you, but we wouldn't let them.
~ Dad left us when you were 12 days old. Mommy was scared to take care of you on her own, but we had some visitors the first few days and then we did just fine. It was during the time he was gone (6 days) that you learned how to sleep at night.
~ You traveled to Montgomery to listen to dad's band play.
~ You also made your first trip to Brewton where you went to your first restaurant, David's Catfish.

Other info:
~ You started out with your days and nights mixed up, but we got that all straightened out mid-month. Now, you wake up once or twice to eat, but you go right back to sleep when you're finished. We can't ask for more than that! =-)
~ You are still sleeping in your Pack n Play in our bedroom. You're doing such a good job sleeping that we're afraid to change anything. There's plenty of time for you to move to your crib.
~ You only eat from a bottle. You never did get the hang of nursing so after a week of trying and mom crying because you weren't eating, we gave up. Mom pumps and gives you the milk from a bottle instead.
~ Everywhere we go random people tell us that you're beautiful and that you look like an Anne Geddes baby.
~ You are extremely expressive, especially when you sleep.
~ You were born with great head control. When you were two hours old, daddy put you on my tummy and you lifted your head, looked around the room, and laid your head back down. This wasn't a one time thing, you continue to have amazing control over your head.
~ Kicking off your blanket seems to be your favorite game. As soon as I cover you up, those legs start kicking and the blanket comes off.
~ You will take a pacifier, but you don't have to have it. We usually give it to you if you're ready to eat and mom doesn't have your bottle ready.
~ You LOVE your swing. You swing all the time and you love to listen to Mandisa while you're swinging- such a Mommy's Girl!
~ You spend a lot of time on your Boppy and you really seem to like it, but your favorite place to be is in mom or dad's arms.
~ You are the happiest baby I've ever seen! You rarely cry and if you do it's because you're hungry or have gas.

Thank you for coming into our lives and making life so much sweeter! We love you!
