Dress Up Fun

We were having a very low-key day today and Morgan was in a great mood this afternoon so I decided we should play dress up. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the photo shoot.

A Week Late

Last weekend we traveled to Huntsville to watch our nephew Ryan play in the Alabama High School All-Star game. When Steve told me it was going to be in Huntsville, I immediately called my college roommate, Emily to see if she'd want some company. We don't get to see each other very often, but we do still keep in touch. She did a great job telling all about how we became roommates and our four years together in Auburn. You can read her account of things here. We had so much fun visiting her and her sweet family.

Morgan and Kate have matching dresses so we decided to take ours so the girls could play dress up! (More like the moms playing dress up, but they didn't mind!) Here's a picture of our precious angels in their matching dresses.

Here we are with our babies. We spent so much time getting them cute that we decided to forgo the make-up ourselves. Here we are in all of our natural beauty! (I stole this picture as well as the previous one from her blog. Steve was snapping away on our camera, but only a few showed up when I tried to download them. Who knows what happened!)

Emily with the cutest boy in the whole world! Ben is too much fun and full of personality- PRECIOUS!

Thank you Matt, Emily, Ben, and Kate for such an amazing weekend! We can't wait to see you again during football season when you visit us. If I remember correctly Morgan, Paige, and Kate all have matching Auburn dresses... I'm excited already! =-)

2 Month Update

It's hard to believe that you are 2 months old already. We have had such a fun month together and I'm very sad that it will be our last complete month together until next summer.

You're growing so fast! You now weigh 11.7 pounds and you are 23 inches long. I'm excited about all the things we'll get to do together when you're older, but I wish you'd stop growing quite so fast.

You sleep really well at night. You usually only wake up once to eat around 3:30 and then you go right back to sleep.

You eat 2 1/2 ounces every 2 hours. I've tried to give you more at one time hoping to spread out your feedings, but you always stop after you've consumed 2 1/2 ounces. You're just a girl who knows what she wants.

You LOVE bath time. You kick and hit the water and you have a blast!

You have started smiling a lot! You have melted the hearts of your parents.

This month you convinced your Uncle Pat, Aunt Tammy, and cousin Ryan (avid Alabama fans) to come to Auburn. You also comforted Granny Smith before her knee surgery,

went to your first Blueberry Festival in Brewton,

celebrated Father's Day for the first time with Daddy,

lost your white tongue, went swimming,

and visited your school. You seemed to like your school just fine; it was your mommy that had a hard time with it. You were the big girl and I was the baby!

This month you also cried tears for the first time and you did something that I hoped you would never do, suck your thumb!

You celebrated your first Independence Day and loved the fireworks!

You are such a blessing and you bring your daddy and me more joy than we ever thought possible.

Going to the Chapel

Yesterday was Morgan's first trip to church.  She did great in the nursery! Believe it or not, we made it to early church so there were more workers than babies in the nursery when we arrived. The ladies were arguing about who was going to get to hold her so I knew she was in good hands.

This was the first time that Steve and I have been together without Morgan since she was born. We love our little angel, but it was nice to focus on worship without having to tend to a newborn.  When we went to pick her up there were a lot more babies in the nursery and our little bundle of joy was in a swing laughing.  Everyone knew who she was- such a little charmer!

All buckled in and ready to go!

Thumb Sucker?!

I have been afraid that Morgan would be a thumb sucker. I had no reason to necessarily believe that she would want to suck her thumb, I am just opposed to it. I would much rather her use a pacifier because when the time comes to get rid of it, taking the pacifier away would be much easier than the thumb. Well, earlier this week Morgan found her thumb. We were doing tummy time and she had her own ideas of what she would rather be doing. I hate the thought that she may become a thumb sucker, but she was so stinking cute that I had to take pictures. After the photo-op her thumb was promptly removed from her mouth and it hasn't returned since then. Maybe it was just a false alarm! =-)

4th of July Fun

We had a pretty low-key day for the 4th, but we did venture out for fireworks that evening. I thought that Morgan would enjoy them because she loves looking at moving light, but I wasn't sure since they are so loud. The noise didn't bother my little munchkin at all, she LOVED the fireworks. I think she enjoyed watching the cars drive by just as much as the fireworks. Here are a few pictures from our excursion.
