Baby Update and Maternity Pictures

A couple of weeks ago we had our weekly doctor appointment complete with an ultrasound where we discovered that our sweet baby girl is still breech. They are estimating that she weighed over 7 pounds at the time of the ultrasound and will be more than 9 when she is born. A c-section has been scheduled for May 7 unless she decides to come before then. I have mixed feelings about the c-section, but I have to trust that God has a reason for having me deliver her this way. All I can say is I'm grateful to have such a wonderful, supportive husband who will be able to take care of both of his girls afterward.
Last week we met our future niece-in-law, Lauren, and she took some late-term maternity pictures of Steve and me. I forget how big I really am until I look at pictures. For some reason the mirror doesn't make me feel as big as pictures. Here are some of the highlights from our experience.

Shower #3

Our third shower took us to Greenville, AL where we were showered with gifts from Steve's side of the family. He has five siblings so they got their own shower! A special thanks to Morgan's "Aunt La La" for getting everything organized (and for taking these pictures!).

The decorations were beautiful!

We're super blessed and grateful for such a wonderful family!

The tiger and elephant puppets were Steve's favorite! I'm afraid he had a little too much fun trying to attack the tiger. That's what we get for having a house divided!

Mom & Dad! =o)

Shower #2

After my surprise shower at school, Steve and I left for a weekend in Brewton where we had our second shower for Morgan on Sunday afternoon. Here are some of the highlights:

The hostesses and me:

The big butt baby cake

The loot

Measuring the belly! Cile was the closest and her piece was the smallest, go figure!

Beth and me with Emma Kate, the best gift opener EVER!

The list of necessities from Mrs. Carol

All in all, it was a wonderful day with great friends!

Our First Shower

Our first baby shower was a surprise to me! Steve knew about it for weeks ahead of time and never said a word. I'm impressed he was able to keep a secret, but I'm equally surprised none of the kids in my class spoiled it. They were so cute!

Me being surprised:

They even had Rachel in on the secret!

Steve was super excited he got the rubber duck he wanted!

My crazy, but precious, class!

By the way, for those of you wondering, this is NOT my classroom! This is a room that is not being used this year, hence the bare walls. =-)

I'm Terrible, I Know

We got the camera back a week ago and I have yet to upload any pictures of things that have been going on, but I do have excuses? Here they are (in no particular order):

Showers- My PRECIOUS class surprised me with a baby shower on Friday... so sweet! We also had a planned shower in Brewton on Sunday so Steve and I traveled down there Friday (after our closet collapsed postponing our trip a few hours!) and we stayed until Sunday. The showers were wonderful! We are so blessed to be loved by so many wonderful people! Don't worry, I have pictures of both showers and I will post those soon.

Mother-in-Law- Steve decided his mom needed to come spend a week with us and this was the week he chose. Don't get me wrong, I love my mother-in-law, but I am so exhausted when I get home each night that I just want to crash and I can't really do that with a guest in the house. We've had something to do each night. This pregnant chick isn't used to that and I've been paying for it too. That leads me to my next two excuses...

Swelling & Contractions- I know they are only Braxton Hicks contractions, but yesterday I had LOTS of them and they were painful. I also started swelling extremely bad yesterday. I had been so proud that I hadn't swollen much, but yesterday my feet and ankles exploded! Thank goodness it is flip-flop weather!

Spring Fever- My kids are going NUTS at school! I expect this to happen this time of year, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Our schedule has also changed for the past two weeks due to the older kids taking SAT tests. We don't have to take them, but we give up our Specials time so that the older kids can have a break too. My class must have structure and this has thrown us all off. They've been pretty good considering what all is going on, but I leave completely exhausted every day.

Dr. Appointment- Steve and I went to the doctor on Tuesday and he said that Morgan was measuring three and 1/2 weeks early. He scheduled an ultrasound to see if they can figure out why. He said it could be extra fluid or she could just be a big baby. I guess we'll find out on April 14. As wonderful as it sounds to have her here and be able to hold her, I know that she isn't fully developed yet so I want her to stay put a little longer.

I guess that's enough excuses for now. Hopefully I'll post again soon with pictures!
