First Christmas Memories

I'm FINALLY working on Christmas posts... there will be a few. I was overwhelmed with the task of posting about our Christmas in part because that would be admitting that it is really over. We had SO MUCH FUN celebrating Christmas with Morgan this year and I'm sure it will only get better each year. Here are a few things from her first Christmas that I don't want to forget. Stay tuned for more posts!

First time to hear the story of our Savior's birth on Christmas with the Smith family.

Our AUsome Little Girl

Can I just take a moment to brag on my husband for being such a great sport? He is an avid Alabama fan, but he tagged along on our Auburn photo session. Regardless of what time you cheer for I think you can appreciate this little cutie!

Yes, those are the flowers outside of Samford Hall. I had her posed in front of them and she fell backwards laughing... oops!

Even Steve said it would be cool to have this picture side by side a picture of her graduating from Auburn if she chooses to go there.

Check out the butterfly over her shoulder, how cool is that?!

7 Months!

How is my sweet baby 7 months old already? Seven months means that she's closer to being a one year old than she is a newborn! I already miss some of the tiny baby things, but Morgan's sweet, fun little personality is really starting to come out and that makes up for the things we're leaving behind. Here's what our little sweet pea has been up to:

You weigh 15.0 pounds and you're 27 inches long- tall and skinny!
You still do not like to eat. In your opinion there are just too many other fun things to be doing. I've given up the fight and I've decided that you can just drink your four ounces (if we're lucky) when you're hungry and eat as much of your cereal, oatmeal, and baby food as you wish. You're obviously very happy and you're healthy so that's all that really matters.
You usually go to bed around 8:30 each night and wake up around 6:40 in the morning, just in time to see me before I have to go to work. You take at least 3 naps a day- one around 9:00, one around 1:00, and the last one right around 5:00. The first two are usually 1 1/2-2 hours each and the 5:00 one is a quick power nap to help you make it through the rest of the evening.

This month we gave up the famous blue tub. I was a little afraid because you enjoy bath time so much and I didn't want to do anything to mess that up. Silly me! You love it even more now that you can kick, play, and splash. The only thing you don't like about bath time is getting out.

This month you also graduated from eating in your Bumbo seat to eating in a real high chair. You still enjoy sitting in your Bumbo especially in the mornings when you're helping me get ready for work. You usually brush your pretend teeth during that time.

This monkey is your very favorite thing in the world! I was looking for a fun new toy to give you when we visited Brewton and your Aunt Rachel gave you this one in the store to test. When we tried to take it from you, you cried! I explained that when you do that in the future the consequences will not be good and you seemed to understand so you got a toy. =-)

You are also still very much a paci lover! You usually only suck on it when you're going to sleep although you do like to chew on the rim throughout the day.

You are getting really good at sitting up. You can reach for things without falling over... most of the time. You also reach for your Daddy and me when you want to get out of your Jumperoo, high chair, or crib. You finally said Ma-Ma! I was so excited! It took you almost exactly 4 weeks longer to say Ma-Ma than Da-Da, but we got it!

Other firsts for this month:

1st time to drink from a real cup (Thanks Big Poppa!)

1st Tiger Walk

1st Thanksgiving

1st time to meet Santa

1st time to cheer Auburn to an SEC Championship!

This has been a month full of adventures! This is a fun time of year, but this year is even better getting to share it with you sweet girl! We love watching you change and grow daily and we are amazed at the blessing God gave us when He chose us to be the parents of such a sweet little angel! Thank you for making our lives better than we ever could have imagined! We love you!
