When The Bama Fan is Away...

... the Auburn girls will play!

Saturday was Auburn's annual A-Day game. Steve was once again gone playing music, but Rachel and Adam were here so we decided we'd go to the game. I wasn't brave (or rich) enough to take Morgan to an Auburn game this past year so I was using the A-Day game as a test to see how she may do during a real game. All things considered, I think she did pretty well. The only "uh oh" we had was when we walked out to the ramp to warm up in the sun. She wanted to tell all the people below "Hey!" and when she opened her mouth, her paci fell out. Down the winding ramp we went until we got to the bottom and recovered her treasure.

Steve is an Alabama fan and I, of course, am an Auburn fan. We decided before Morgan was born that we would let her choose which team she would like to cheer for, but judging from the smile on her face, I think we have a little Tiger! =-)

Tis The Season...

...bluegrass season, that is! Steve has been gone most weekends (and some week days) doing what he loves, playing bluegrass music. Truth be told, it just isn't my "thing." Don't get me wrong, I think my husband has a great voice and I enjoy hearing him sing, but I haven't been able to develop an appreciation for bluegrass music. That being said, Morgan and I have opted out of going to most places he performs (Some of them are 14+ hours away!), but we made an exception last weekend and traveled down to Fort Deposit for the Calico Fort craft show. It's hard to believe that I walked around the entire place and didn't buy a single thing. I did, however, get some pictures with my phone.

I'm not sure she knows what to think either.

"Big Poppa" came to visit. He swore that once my mom passed away he'd never go to another craft show. It's amazing what a little MES can do. =-)

All in all, it was a great day. We enjoyed seeing family, meeting friends, and spending time outside.

11 Months!

Am I really already writing your 11 month post?! This month has been filled with excitement. You are growing and changing so much every day and I am enjoying each moment watching you learn and discover new things all the time.
Your new "tricks" include:
- Saying "Oooohhhh!" when you give someone or one of your stuffed animals a hug.
- When asked, "Where's Momma's eye?" you'll touch my eye and say, "Eye!"
- Blowing kisses
- Saying "Uh oh!" until whatever you dropped is picked up
- Cruising from one object to another
- Clapping while squealing with excitement

Currently, you weigh 18.7 pounds and you're 30 inches long. You have finally developed an appetite and I couldn't be more grateful! There's not really anything that you won't eat, but meat is your least favorite. If whatever you put in your mouth won't completely dissolve, you won't swallow it.

Most of your clothes are 6-9 months, but you are able to wear some 12 month stuff (and 0-3 month stuff!) depending on what it is. You're still wearing size 3 diapers and, at the rate you're growing, you may be in them until you're potty trained! =-)

Your favorite things this month are listening to music (especially "Baby" by Justin Bieber), reading, and playing in your tent. If you ever crawl out of the living room, Daddy and I aren't worried because we know you've gone to your tent to play with your stuffed animals and read. You love to dance and you think the words to any song you hear are "baby oh". We're working on learning some new songs, but so far that's the only one that's stuck.

We're working on making your pacifier be something you use only when you're sleeping or hurt. So far, you've never gotten angry when I've taken it from you and I hope that continues.

This month you had your first sick visit to the doctor. We thought you just had allergies, but then your coughing got pretty bad, especially at night, and you would scream each time you coughed so we knew something wasn't quite right. Turns out you had your very first ear infection and the pressure from the cough was hurting your ears, making you scream. You got some "bubble gum medicine" and you were as good as new in a few days. I've never seen a child who loves to take medicine as much as you.

You're holding strong with your two bottom teeth. You've been showing all the signs that more are on the way for a month, but none of them have broken through the skin and I can't tell where they're going to be. I guess it will just have to be a surprise.

You have an infectious smile. People stop us everywhere we go to tell us how precious and happy you are. I love watching you stare at people until they look at you just so you can smile at them. You have no idea how much joy you bring to everyone around you. I pray you'll always have the sweet, joyful innocence that you have now.

In just a few short weeks we'll be celebrating your first birthday, wow!

Spring Break

It is hard for me to believe that Spring Break has already come and gone. Steve and I decided that we wouldn't make any big plans for the week this year since it seems that we're always "on the go" so the first few days of the break we spent time at home, ran errands we had been putting off, played outside, and just enjoyed a little break.

Patiently waiting for mommy and daddy to get the pool ready

"Here, daddy, I'll help you."

Splish, Splash!

We decided on Wednesday that we'd like to take a trip to the beach to visit Steve's sister and brother-in-law for a few days. We had a great time visiting with them and we even got to take Morgan to the ocean so we could play dress up on the beach.

Exploring inside...

and outside.

Happy baby!

Touching the water for the first time

It was a good little get away, but, as the saying goes, all good things come to an end. We came back home and enjoyed the last day of our break playing outside and soaking in as much sun as we could.

Relaxing in the hammock

Back in the pool

I hated to see the week come to an end, but I am very thankful to have a job that allows me to spend extra time with my sweet little girl. Time is passing so quickly and I cherish every moment and memory we have together.
