On November 7 our sweet baby turned 6 months old! This was one of the quickest months yet and I think it is because life was so busy! On your sixth month birthday you weighed 14.8 pounds and you were 25 1/2 inches long. You're growing great length wise, but you aren't gaining much weight. You still won't drink more than 4 ounces at a time in a bottle and even that is sometimes a struggle. You do usually eat your cereal or oatmeal and baby food well. I stay concerned about your weight, but your doctor said that you are doing fine and we're just going to continue to wait on that growth spurt to hit. You are given the opportunity to eat every 3-4 hours and you usually take 3-4 naps a day. You go to bed around 8:00 and you usually get up around 6:15 in the morning. You are wearing 3 month clothes and size 1-2 diapers. This month's firsts: You tried baby food for the first time. You weren't too sure about it at first, but once you got started you realized that green beans aren't so bad. Over the course of the month you tried all of the vegetables and even started on some fruits. So far the only thing we've found that you're not a fan of is peaches and mommy completely understands that! You also went to your first bonfire and pig roast where we listened to your daddy's band play. This was also the first time you wore shoes. The next day you went to your first tailgate. We met the Eckleys and the Wrights. The adults provided the food and you girls (and Ben!) provided the entertainment. It was so fun watching you, Kate, and Paige interact with each other. This month you also celebrated your first Halloween. Dad was out of town so Lauren went with us downtown on Thursday where you absolutely loved watching everyone and everything. Sunday you helped mommy give out candy to all the trick-or-treaters. You loved smiling at everyone who came to the door. You also loved pretending to eat the candy. You really think you're a big girl.
Some of your new tricks this month are giving kisses, sitting up all alone, and reaching for things you want- especially your paci.
This has been a month full of new adventures and joy! I often wonder what I did with all of my time before you came along. All I know is whatever it was, it wasn't nearly as much fun as what I'm doing with all of my time now! Happy 1/2 birthday sweet girl!
