Success!

I apologize for the delay, but we were successful in our attempt to have the nursery painted and the furniture in place by the end of Spring Break. We actually finished on Friday so we had the weekend to spare! Unfortunately, I don't have our nice camera at the moment so I don't have any more "fun" photos, but I did take this one of the wall with my iPhone. Don't worry, I'll post more of the work in progress ones for your entertainment when the camera is returned. Have a wonderful Wednesday! =-)

Mid-Week Nursery Update

My goal for the week is to have the nursery painted and the furniture in place. How are we doing with this project? Well, here's where we are presently:

The yellow and the pink are complete and the diamonds are being taped. I'm still hopeful that it will be finished by this weekend. Once the diamonds are taped, it should be easy to paint them and then the only thing left will be the chair rail and Steve says that part should be easy... once he gets to buy new tools of course. I think he's using this nursery excuse to get a bunch of new toys, but as long as the room gets done, I don't mind.

Here's how we got to this point:

Measuring for the chair rail

Painting the yellow

Steve being silly with the pink paint

Marking off the diamonds

I'm so thankful that I have such a wonderful, excited, supportive husband to help get Morgan's nursery ready.

34 Week Update

I can't believe that we are a mere 6(ish) weeks away from welcoming our little girl into the world. Here are a few thoughts I have on pregnancy:
1- It hasn't been horrible, but it hasn't been the "most wonderful time of life" like others have said it was for them.
2- Believe it or not, I think I've felt better throughout the third trimester than I did first or second. I do feel extremely heavy and I can't breathe when I reach the top of a flight of stairs, but other than that, I feel great!
3- The worst part of pregnancy? I think it would be a toss-up between the heartburn and the leg cramps at night. Thankfully my wonderful husband wakes up to my screams and helps get those cramps to go away. I couldn't have made it through all of this without his support. I am blessed!
4- The best part? Feeling her move around and knowing that it is real, I'm about to be a mom! It is intimidating and nerve wracking at the same time, but I think we're as ready as we'll ever be.

Speaking of getting ready... This week is my Spring Break and we are going to tackle the nursery. My goal is to have it completed (maybe not all of the knick-knack stuff, but the big stuff) by the time I go back to work. Steve is SO ready to have all of the boxes unpacked from moving, but I'm in complete nesting mode and I want to know that if Morgan decides to come early, we have somewhere for her to go. Here's a look at what we've done so far:

The colors have been chosen and I'm working to finalize the final design. Hopefully most of it will be painted today. I'll try to do better to update the blog with our progress.
Happy Saturday!
